Mona's Meals Malta Workshop: Filled Pasta. Guest of Honour: Ira Losco
Mona Farrugia is pleased to announce the first Mona's Meals Workshop for 2011: filled pasta with Chris Bonnici and Ira Losco
Yes, you read right. Our first workshop for 2011 kicks off with Ira Losco as guest of honour. Ira eats very healthily but adores a good plate of pasta and has, on regular occasions, tried to poison me with her, erm, concoctions. Her favourite dish is her mother's Razanja, which translates loosely as either Lasagna or Lasagna with Razor Blades.
Although most people will get excited about Ira being there, she is not singing, unless she hums while cooking or something similar. She will be getting her hands dirty like the rest of us.
Chef of the day is Chris Bonnici, who has run his own restaurant in Marsascala and who today is Head of Manufacturing for a very large local food company. His speciality is filled pasta and he will be sharing some great techniques with us for agnolotti, capelletti and whatever shape he decides to come up with.
Details are as follows:
When: 29th January, 2011
Time: 9.45am for coffees, starting 10.00am
Where: Ta' Soldi kitchen in Mgarr, a kitchen so well equipped that it even has a full blown industrial pasta machine
What we do: prepare. From previous experience nobody wants to cook the pasta we prepare, so bring containers to take it home with you. You will need to speed back so don't plan anything for after the workshop.
Menu: a fish-based, a meat-based and a cheese-based pasta plus the butter and sage sauce.
Price: €40 inclusive of VAT, payable in advance via bank transfer or cheque. Payments are not refundable.
