Your place or mine?

Mona Farrugia wonders if Saif al Islam Ghaddafi will lend her his pad on her next trip to London. The suede-lined walls sound like a hassle to clean though.

Your place or mine?

The thing with dictators and their children is that they integrate themselves with 'regular' society. So, Saif Ghaddafi, the guy who two nights ago was threatening the Libyan people with 'hunger' in a demented speech reminescent of his good ol' dad, is actually educated at the London School of Economics.

Some very high profile Maltese have been there. They probably had beers with the guy.

Every dictator needs a nice pad to crash out at and Saif has been popping out all over London for years now.  Here is his latest offer, from last Sunday's UK Times:

Dictator's son lets home

Saif al-Islam Gadaffi, the Libyan dictator's son who played a key role in the release of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber, is rethinking his London property portfolio. Last week, he decided to let out his eight-bedroom neo-Georgian mansion in Hampstead, having previously tried to sell for £10.95m - just a year and a half after buying it in the name of a British Virgin Islands - registering company for £9,500 a week. The recently refurbished house on a secluded street has an impressive triple-height hallway, a swimming pool, a sauna, a hot tub and a cinema with suede-lined walls.
