Artist Madeleine Gera is exhibiting a collection of portraits of women at Angelica café at 134, Archbishop Street, Valletta during the month of February.
The theme of the exhibition was inspired by the café’s name - Angelica - while the paintings on exhibit are mainly portraits painted from life in Gera’s studio as part of a portrait tutorial.
‘Angelica is my favourite café in the city so it was apt that I exhibit there’ Ms. Gera said. ‘I love sitting on the sofas upstairs eating a freshly-made soup accompanied by a glass of wine. It is so private and so quiet – a reprieve in the city’. Now patrons can do the same while surrounded with Gera’s beautiful faces.
Madeleine Gera is presently working on private portrait commissions in her Valletta studio where she paints and teaches.
